{{{Fat Quarter Shop $25 Gift Certificate Giveaway!!!}}}

This Giveaway is Now Closed!

Today is a very exciting day for me!  My second "recipe" is featured over at the Moda Bake Shop.  Spinning off my first MBS recipe seen here, I created a tutorial on how to make two oversized pillows out of one Moda jelly roll.  Please head over there to check it out and leave a little comment.  I'll be forever grateful!

In honor of my big day, I wanted to share with you a giveaway.  The Fat Quarter Shop has generously donated a $25 gift certificate to their shop.  If you have never been to the FQ Shop, you need to go check it out.  They have a wide variety of fabric bundles, jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, patterns, fabric by the yard, and lots more.

I think it is fun to give you many chances to win, so here we go...

1.  Become a follower of my blog (if you like what you see here).

2.  Tell me an embarrasing moment that happened to you recently.  (I can't wait to read these!)

3.  Blog or tweet about the giveaway.  (Make sure to leave your blog/twitter address so we can find new blogs to follow)

4.  Become a fan of The Fat Quarter Shop on Facebook, or Twitter

5.  Subscribe to The Fat Quarter Shop's blog.

Make sure you leave a comment for each thing you do.  This giveaway will run until Thursday, July 28th at midnight EST.  My kids will help me choose the winner by the same method that we did in my last giveaway.  Thanks so much for participating!!!

  5. Okay, so last week was my routing mamo and well you know that little bb thing they use? Well I totally forgot it was on there, and that evening, my boyfriend was letting his hands wander, and looks at me really funny and says...Why do you have a bb on your nipple? LOL, I almost died of embarrassment. Guess you had to be there! LOL

  28. My most recent embarrassing moment... We had my kids' birthday party last weekend, and in the craziness of the last few months, I never got around to tracking down one family to invite. (We only really see them during the school year, so it kind of slipped through the cracks.) Well, wouldn't you know it, guess who called my cell as I was standing in the very noisy play place setting up the party. I felt so bad!

  32. Now, about an embarrassing moment that happened to me recently...hmmm, that's a hard one. All I can think of right now is one my mom told me the other day. She went to Scholotzkies and ordered in the drive through and was waiting at the window for a person to come whom she could pay when she realized she forgot her wallet at home. Since they weren't coming to the window, she just up and left. She was pretty embarrassed.

  35. My most recent embarrassing moment. I roll my jeans up at home so I don't step on the hems. I went to the store, and in the dressing room, discovered that I hadn't unrolled them when I put my shoes on. I looked like the country bumpkin that I guess I am. I am not talking an inch roll up, but a good 4 inches!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hrm. I don't embarrass all that easily. I was surprised when I came face to face with the mailman in my rather shabby Pjs. I think he was more surprised than I was. Does that count?

  45. Oh my gosh do I have an embarrassing moment!! To start, I am signed up to get CNN Breaking News emails and the other day one came that just got the hair on my back standing up 'cause I was so upset with that one. Well, normally I'll copy the email and then paste into an email to send to my husband at work along with my snide/snarky comments added to it. Well, about half a second after I hit send, I thought WAIT ~ I don't remember adding hubby's email addy! Hmmmmmm O.M.G.!!!! Can you guess? YUP! I had hit REPLY instead of forward this time and sent that snarky/snide comment BACK TO CNN!!!!! I swear within about 10 minutes I was getting sick to my stomach wondering who will see that and then I had nightmares overnight (yes it was VERY snarky bad!) that they used that on the news and then they showed up with a camera crew at our house wanting to talk to me and wouldn't go away. LOL

I will NEVER forward another one of those emails to my husband and really I don't know yet why I did that in the first place because I always copy and paste those things. ugh. So there ya go. I think that's embarrassing enough. LOL

  49. SO, I was in a wedding last night. You know...you always have to dance with the groomsman you've been partnered with. Ugh. This guy was unfriendly, a totally could not dance...to the embarassing point because you know you are being watched. Even my husband noticed and commented that 'what was wrong with that guy'? LOL Thanks for the chance to win.

  52. something embarassing?
Something so stupid I felt very embarassed:
I left the house to pick up my daughter from the busstop.
    Yeah, let's go shopping!
After 3 hours we came home and waded into a very wet house ...
I'd left the kitchen tap on (running water) to get something really clean.
Then I forgot to close it (!!!) because I was in a hurry to get to the busstop
    (and I was chaotic)

  63. I saved the best for last -- the embarrassing part. Yesterday I went to a new grocery store (I just moved to a new town) that my friends had raved about. I shopped and looked at all the food, and was suitably impressed by all the choices that I knew my husband and I would love. All was well until I got ready to check out. I couldn't quite figure out the process . . . see, I'm not intellectually challenged or anything, but they do the checkout process totally different than anywhere I've ever been. The checkout lanes were facing a wall, and I couldn't tell which side I, as the shopper, was supposed to go on (this was not helped by the attire of the checkout clerk, who was wearing men's plaid pajama pants and a t-shirt of questionable vintage). I could feel my palms getting all sweaty as I approached, but I paid close attention: I knew the side with the card swiper was the side for me. :) You'd think I was visiting another country, not a new town . . .

I was referring to chapters 6, 7, 8, and 9. She responded with a "huh?" It was just a l'il awkward, but I think I recovered quickly. :)

  71. On Thursday evening, we drove our 22 year old daughter to JFK airport in NYC for a flight to visit her college friend in London. Although I grew up near the airport, directly under the main flight path and worked there during college, we haven't used that airport for years. There is a lot of construction going on and we did not realize that the terminal my daughter's flight was assigned to had been changed. Luckily, we left early and allowed for extra time. When we finally arrived at the correct terminal, an airline employee greeted us like royalty and took my daughter's passport and flight info and processed it right away. Then she pointed her to the shortest line to have her baggage processed. As I thanked her for her help she said, "It was the deer in the headlights look that brought me over to rescue you."

  78. I had an embarrassing moment just yesterday. I took my mother out to lunch. The table was still cluttered from our appetizer when they brought out our entrees. My mother was pushing plates out of the way, some into my my direction and knocked over my FULL glass of ice water. You know that sound when something gets knocked over like that so obviously people were looking at us. OK, so that itself wasn't so bad. But as I was trying to get out of the booth the water and ice cubes just kept pooling up and following me. I couldn't help myself but laugh and keep saying, OMG it's soooo cold. Everyone around us got a big kick out of it and some even commented how this was just a desperate measure to cool off from the heat wave we're having.

  91. I have two small children so I don't embarrass real easily. But I have this strange talent where my eyes move independently of each other. I love to gross kids out with it. One night at dinner my 5 year old son attempted to mimic me and did it. I got so tickled; then I looked at my daughter and asked, "Is that what my eyes look like when I do it?" She said "Yup!" I was crying I was laughing so hard! I knew what it felt like but I've never been able to see it!

Ok embarrising, mmmm. O yeah, I just helped a friend who got a new house. I wanted to help her clean, but I'm not a very good cleaner. So I asked to clean somewhere were I could do the least damage (I've broken a lot of things in my past.) So I was banished to the cellar!. So I'm scrubbing with water and soap, when all the electricity in the house is out! OOPS, water in the fusebox. I don't think I will be cleaning there sometime soon!

  115. Ok really embarrasing moment. We were motorcycle riding and I never ride on the back of DH's bike since I got my own..his driving now scares me to death!(I used to sleep on the back of his bike, but never again) This day I decided to give it a try for some reason. We were about 120 miles from home and I had been in a panic all the way telling him to slow down ...not follow so close etc. . We stopped in a small town for gas and I ran into the restroom when I came out I whispered to him that he had scared me so badly that my pants had gotten wet. Right out loud the man I married says to me "You didn't wet your pants, I washed the bike before we left the seat wasn't dry all the way!" Everyone turned around and looked at me! I wanted to melt into the ground.

Going with option #2 - recently I went to the mall wearing a bright new jersey dress feeling so confident, and only realised when I got home that my bra's soft cup had given away the whereabouts of my nipples to the townfolks! (I'm going anonymous because it's really embarassing. Anyway email codenamemukuge at gmail dot com)

  127. Hmmm...nothing embarassing ever happens to me! Ok there was a time quite recently that my ridiculously clingy almost-3 year old was pulling at my skirt (as she always tugs and pulls and stretches my clothes down) at the library, which happened to be a shirred elastic waist skirt and pulled it down enough to expose half of my backside. thankfully i was wearing boy cut undies and not much was exposed. you do have to picture a muslim lady in a scarf and long skirt whose butt is shown to the world by her toddler.

  136. Embarassing Moment: My husband and I do not have any children...not yet anyway. Sometimes, though, I like to stock up on baby clothes to use for a shower or just to hold onto until I have someone to wear them. At Marshall's there were deals that I could not pass up. I am always embarassed and hope that they don't ask who they are for. The cashier asked me if they were for my nephew. It took me a minute to answer, but I think I finally shook my head. :)

  139. Embarrassing moment:

So I'm at an inflatable gym type place with my 5 and 2 year old for a birthday party. The inflatable pieces are big enough to accommodate adults so they convince me to go down the slide one with them. No big deal right? SO I climb to the top with them, they each down down fairly slowly and climb off. So I swing my legs over the edge and give myself a little push - I fly down the slide faster than the kids went. At the bottom I figure the bag placed down there is for my legs to push against when I get to the bottom - WRONG! My feet go over the bag and I effectively launch myself off the slide and fly on to a mat and land on my bum! Of coarse everyone at that moment had to be watching - we all got a good laugh and no one was hurt so I had to laugh myself.

  141. Here's my embarrassing story, it's not really that bad but.. I like to wear a certain name brand of sandals and I've been wearing the same pair for about 5 years now, they are still holding together but my feet have a tendency to slip off the side, well I was coming out of the house and down the steps and kind of hit the edge of the step and slipped off and twisted my ankle. All while my BF was standing there watching me. He wasn't too concerned, was just all "are ya OK" and I was like "yeah" which really meant "NO". I was pretty embarrassed. I've had the same BF for the past 11 years, but I still felt like a dope.

  149. Last week, I was swimming laps at the community pool. One of the people in charge yelled out across the pool, "No kids in the lap lanes!", causing everyone to stop swimming and look over to see who the offending youngster was. It was me, 2 months shy of my 40th birthday, being mistaken for a kid. I was so embarrassed (but if I'm being completely honest, a tad bit flattered, too). Thanks for the chance to win!

  152. The most recent embarrassing thing that happened to me was falling down in public in front of about 200 people. Nobody asked if I was ok, they all just kind of stood around and nervously laughed!

  153. This morning, I was walking my daughter and son-in-law's dog and my own dog when my "grand-dog" left a huge pile of "business" in my neighbor's yard. After the walk, I grabbed some grocery bags and headed off in my SUV to pick up the mess, which had been deposited at a house located around the block. After I bagged the poo, I didn't want to ride in the car with the smelly stuff, so I rolled down the window and held the bag at arm's length outside of my vehicle as I headed back home. Neighbors gave me puzzled looks as I drove by them! Ugh!

  157. Embarrassing moment: This is my first summer teaching a class, and I recently wore my dress inside out and backwards. You would have to see the dress to believe it.
